And the Winner is….Ice Hockey

It’s that time again when we can’t help but get drawn in, adrenaline pumping from the comfort of our couches. Time to watch athletes from all over the world jump, slide and skate their hardest…all hoping for that coveted medal. That’s right, it’s Winter Olympics time. Four years ago in Torino a nation looked on as Sasha Cohen tumbled her way into a silver medal, Apollo Ohno impressed us all with a gold, and the United States came in second to Germany in the medal count. This year, it’s on to Vancouver for what’s sure to be some great sports.

King Employees are buzzing with the excitement of the 21st Winter Olympic Games. They were asked, “What is your favorite Winter Olympic Sport?” Here are the results:

Ice Hockey came in 1st with 36% of the vote. Downhill Skiing and Ski Jumping tied for 2nd place, each with 18% votes. Finally, 3rd place was shared between Bobsled, Figure Skating, and Snowboarding, each with 9%. Sorry Apollo…no speed skating fans here! Maybe in 2014 someone will have a change of heart…

Check out these great Valentine’s Day gift ideas from our King Innovation employees!

It’s all about the box, the bow, and the bag.

Nothing says “I love you” like heart shaped sunny side up eggs and heart shaped pancakes on Valentine’s Day morning.  Try using strawberry milk and frozen strawberries in the pancake batter to make them pink!

My husband once gave me a furry toilet seat cover because I was always complaining about it being cold!

A handwritten letter was the best (and most inexpensive) gift I have ever received from my wife on Valentine’s Day.  Just a little something to remind me how much she cares!

Any single’s out there?  The best part about Valentine’s Day is 50% off chocolate the day after!  I stock up every year on February 15th; truffles, caramels, vanilla cremes, milk, dark, mint…you can’t beat it!

I can never go wrong with a gift certificate to the spa.  She gets to spend some time getting pampered…and some time away from me!

Forget live roses that are going to die off in a week!  My husband got me glass roses a few years back, and they have been on my desk ever since.  It’s a little something to remind me of him during my busy day, and years later they still look great!

Everybody needs a snuggie.  If she doesn’t have one, buy one.  If she already has one, buy her one in leopard print.

Our long awaited introduction of Gorilla Nuts is now underway! It marks an entirely new wave of patented, comfortable twist-ons that King is offering into the traditional electrical channel of distribution.

King’s approach, while it appears rather conventional, is anything but. Gorilla Nuts is the latest in a series of out of the box innovative products. Starting with the problem, twist on connectors have been very uncomfortable to install for decades, King engineering department began an extensive search to change the feel. More comfort, more torque, better connection with less effort! That’s value!

For over two decades now King Innovation has had the unusual opportunity to add value in most of our relationships. The return on adding value to other people’s lives is nearly immeasurable. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to innovate. Taking a small niche and spending more time in it than any other party brings enormous results. Each of us here at King has participated and witnessed the innovation process. It makes me so happy to see lives changing, both inside at King those we effect outside of King, in such a positive way.
