King Drains® Undergo Ergonomic Design Change
New Design Combines Main and Lateral Line Drain

O’FALLON, MISSOURI - King Innovation’s line of automatic freeze protection drains, King Drains, has undergone dramatic design changes. The new drain line combines the main and lateral line drain into one product, which features an ergonomic grip for easy installation.

Redesigned to meet the increasing needs of the irrigation industry, the advantage of one King Drain is that it can be utilized for both main line and lateral line applications. The added benefit of the ergonomic grip makes installation easier. With ½” and ¾” sizes available, King Drains contain an exclusive raised self-cleaning dirt arrestor screen that prevents clogging due to sediment and/or contaminants.

Additionally, King Drains’ patented pressure sensitive valve releases water slowly at root level when water pressure is between 15 to 20 PSI. It also includes a patented backflow check which eliminates backflow contamination by preventing water from reentering a system. This eliminates potential freeze damage, which complements end-of-season blowouts.

King Drains continue to provide automatic freeze protection, adding more value to irrigation systems. Most experts recommend the addition of drains where climates are heavily affected by hard freezes, when a freeze may cause damage to entire irrigation systems. Along with winterization, strategically-placed drains insure against damage to large investments.
