O’FALLON, MO—King Innovation’s DryConn® line of waterproof connectors has added a new item for use with tracer line wire. The DryConn® Split Bolt Housing surrounds splices in gas, cathodic, water and telecom splices to protect them from the harsh outdoor elements.
First, low voltage (50V) connections are made using split bolts with #14 – #10 gauge wire. Then, the DryConn® Split Bolt Housing is used to encapsulate the splice making it waterproof, corrosion proof, and able to be buried directly into the ground. The housing is filled with a non-toxic SmartGel®, which not only protects your splice but also is re-enterable to ensure connections are secured properly. Available in three colors (Yellow, Aqua and Orange) the DryConn® Split Bolt Housing may be used across several industries.

King Innovation® Introduces Dry-Conn® Dry-Crimp Connectors for use in Irrigation Systems & Low Voltage Lighting

O’FALLON, MO—DryConn®, the original brand of waterproof wire connectors, has added a crimp connector to its line of connectors used in irrigation systems and low voltage landscape lighting.
The Dry-Crimp wire connector is a two-part system that allows installers to first crimp wire and test for conductivity, and then secure with a waterproof housing. There are two crimp sizes available to cover a wire range between #18 and #10 AWG, and the waterproof housing is filled with a dielectric silicone sealant to ensure a waterproof and corrosion proof splice. The three holes in the housing tightly seal around wires (or seal when no third wire is used) to ensure continuous splice protection.
King Innovation Design Engineer Bill Hiner paid close attention to detail when designing the Dry-Crimp connector, from the size of the crimp (must fit three #10’s!) to the amount of silicone contained in the housing. The end product was worth all the effort; feel confident when you install the DryConn Dry-Crimp connector!
